Marrakshi Life was founded in 2013 by New York fashion photographer Randall Bachner, We knew each other from afar in the 1990s, were reacquainted on Instagram, and have been good friends since.

Randall fell in love with Morocco while traveling. Restless for new creative expression, in time he partnered with local artisans weavers and tailors to make a clothing collection based in a traditional Moroccan wardrobe with Western inflections. Cotton yarns from Egypt or Turkey are dyed locally in Marrakech, and then spun in-house. The textiles are handwoven, cut and stitched in the ML atelier. Zero waste is the aim, and scraps are patch-worked into garments and accessories to that aim.

This genderless oversized shirt is a favorite at Loveland, here in fall colors merlot, pinot, green grape and black. Handwoven by two weavers on traditional Moroccan flat bed looms. It takes 5 hours to weave the 4 meters of fabric needed to make this shirt.

100% cotton weft gives softness; black poly warp adds structure and drape.
