Gehsine Holschuh began knitting as a teenager in her native Belgium; she is now on the board of her country’s fair trade board. Always interested in Craft, while traveling in Uruguay, she visited some women’s weaving collectives, and decided immediately to begin her business. More than a decade later her focus remains on beautiful textiles, preserving age-old techniques for future generations, and supporting artisan communities.

Gehsine is inspired by traditional weaving patterns, reimagining them with merino , silk, cotton, and linen in contemporary colors and space-dyed yarns. Organically raised sheep provide merino wool that takes color well, is water-repellent, durable, and doesn't itch. It’s also warm on cold days and cool in the summer time.

This salt-and-pepper poncho goes from beach to mountains, cozy on the couch or an evening stroll.
