Rain

April begins the rainy season here in Provincetown. Is it my favorite time of year? Daffodils and pansies pressing through the recently frozen earth, the lovely, new brightness of spring in the light, the rain on the mossy roof at night. And the slow return of old friends and new faces, the anticipation for summer ahead. Till then, here are favorite quotes about rain, and a poem.

Langston Hughes, April Rain Song, ?

Joan Didion, Holy Water, 1979

Charles Dickens, Great Expectations, 1860-61
